    The official YouTube channel for Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIV game began streaming a new opening trailer on Saturday for the game's upcoming Stormblood expansion. The trailer reveals the new job Samurai.

    Game's 2nd expansion launches in Japan, N. America, Europe on June 20

    Square Enix originally revealed the new job at the "Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival" in Frankfurt, Germany on Saturday.

    The expansion will also feature the new Red Mage job. Stormblood, which is the second expansion for the game, will launch in Japan, North America, and Europe on June 20. A Collector's Edition will also launch on June 20.

    The expansion will feature Ala Mhigo as its backdrop, and the storyline will center on the city's liberation. XIIth Legion Legatus Zenos yae Galvus, who is the ruler of the occupied city, serves as one of the enemies players will face.

    The expansion will also raise the level cap from 60 to 70 and will add new dungeons, new high-level raids, new alliance raids, and new gear. The expansion will also let players swim and dive, and will increase players' inventory size. Other additions include a fourth residential district, new crafting recipes, new areas, a new primal, and changes to the battle system. Nobuo Uematsu is composing the theme song for the new expansion.

    When Stormblood launches, Sony and Square Enix will stop support for the game for the PlayStation 3. The companies plan to launch an upgrade campaign that "will allow PS3 players to seamlessly join in the battle for Ala Mhigo at launch."

    Just an FYI,
    I have a stable casual FC if people are looking for a place to call home in this game.

    I really enjoyed this game during my free trial definitely worth buying but hate the fact that its monthly subscription which is why I haven't played it since. But it gave me massive nostalgia for MMOs and I really enjoyed the game throughout even the music is amazing.

    So @Shi I thought you had given up video games? :p

    I really would like to have time for another MMORPG but I don't know anyone who plays this in my gaming circle. Which is unfortunate because it looks really detailed right down to the emo style hair styles. The music seems to be very FF like, which I love. I am going to think about this one again.

    @Narilka I did.
    Doesn't mean I'm not close to my guildies. :)
    I met the majority of them in person and in fact, I met a couple of them over the weekend to check out Katsucon and the casino nearby.

    That's been my issue since launch. It looks alright, but I have a hard time justifying a game with a monthly fees if I'm going to be playing solo. Equally, it's hard to convince people to buy into a $20 game, a monthly fee, and two expansion packs to get into it with me, especially when even I'm wary of taking that step.

    @Shi I know what you mean I have been playing WoW off and on for about 12 years now. The only thing I never gave up was my guildmates. I still talk to them a lot. Some I have known since high school and others we picked up in the game.

    @Novaire The only reason I play WoW is because I have a lot of friends that still play off and on. And its about $15/ mo. The game is cool and has a lot of interesting things to do but would get boring and monotonous, for me alt least, if I didn't have someone to do it with.

    It feels good to play FFXIV again. It's hard to justify subscription MMOs lately but I still get my Legacy price for FFXIV so that's nice. I only played Heavenswards until the end of 3.0's story so I've got some catching up to do. Samurai is nothing like its FFXI counterpart but it might be my new main.
