There are no hard-and-fast rules that can be applied to every game, only general guidelines that should be adhered to in order to avoid confusion and to give moderators something to work with should intervention become necessary. Here's the gist of it: As A Game Master Your role is to provide clear and concise rules for your players on what they can do, what they cannot do, the expected tone of the game you've organized, and to be available to them should they need guidance or require your judgment. Having an assistant game master who is familiar with your play style or is privy to your intentions is highly recommended, as you cannot hope to be available at all times. As A Player By entering a roleplay you are accepting the game master's terms and conditions, as it were, and it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the rules and tone of the game you are playing. Pay special attention to any unique instructions on the mechanics of the universe the game master has built, and be sure to ask for clarification whenever it is needed to ensure that the game runs smoothly. If you believe that a game master is being unfair make your case known to them, and if you cannot come to an agreement you are expected to respectfully bow out of the game. If you believe that the game master is being both unfair and antagonistic contact a moderator and explain the situation to them, they will handle it from there. Above all, have fun and work together. Thank you.
