    I have both on dvd already. It begs the question why now? I understand a bluray release if the tv series hasn't been hdified yet but why the dvds? Is this a remaster?

    or was it a case that it was out of print for x number of years and they just did a new transfer from the masters??

    @yoda313

    No idea as to the reason behind the dvd release. Maybe the old one's gone out of print.

    Well the rate studios in the entertainment business get bought and resold and dissolved the issue of rights and back catalogs could be tricky. Perhaps it is a reissue.

    They always have cgi cars in GITS. They always suck ass. The robots/mechs/military vehicles look better and the blend isnt too jarring. But yeah, cars are shit fam.

    Full cgi would be poor choice. Only recent anime that looked good in was Gantz-O and that was mostly due to how goofy the concept and tone was in first place.

    He's been the character designer for an anime film called Birthday Wonderland. That's about it, mainstream wise. He's done commendable work on game character designs, illustrations and all that kinda stuff. Got himself published his own book as well called Momentary which showcases some beautiful artwork. But anime wise, he's new to the game. But an absolute talent in terms of character designing.

    Here's a video reviewing his artbook Momentary:

    Jun'ichi Fujisaku and Hiroki Yoshimoto will launch a new Ghost in the Shell manga titled Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm on Kodansha's Young Magazine on September 20. The manga will also serialize a new chapter every two weeks in Kodansha's Comic Days manga app. Fujisaku posted a photo of the magazine announcement on his Twitter account.

    The manga is set after Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor manga, and will focus on Section 9 after the disappearance of the Major. In particular, it will focus on the stories of Togusa, Batou, Azuma, Ishikawa, and a newcomer from the Channeling Agency named Tsunagi. Fujisaku added that he is writing the story as if it was "Ghost in the Shell 1.75."

    Ghost In The Shell manga is kinda a dry read. Its awesome tho. But you need to think between the panels lol.

    Anyway, can't wait for them to turn it into an animu. Love me sum Masamune Shirow butI like how he's let others continue his work. Good luck to em.
