Having checked some anticipated anime listings on different sites and blogs, it seems like none are rating this one. God knows why. I feel this show is gonna be one of the highlights of the spring season.

Not a fan of the fade-ins, but I'm already in love with this grungy universe. Really liking the old school vibe to it too. The art's so rough, I thought I was watching a bad copy at first.

"They don't make tombstones for stray dogs"

This show is love at first sight. Plus I'm digging the art. The bust-up towns, graffiti, dirt roads, everything. It's got that Michiko to Hatchin feel to it but the cast of Megalobox is animated rough like Tonto said; they have that bruised-and- battered look to them, which I think fits the theme here.

Looks like a lost and found anime ripped from a VHS from the 80's. Defo some Fist Of The North Star, Rocky, Battle Angel, Shamo and even some The Centurions type add ons vibes going on.Could do with some bad hair metal but can't have everything (the music would fit right in on an early Eminem album).

Will continue watching. Story is super generic but I don't care. Makes me wanna check the Hajime No Ippo reboot as well.

The animation is going full vintage on me here. Can't believe this is a show in 2018. Must've been a pain+money in the butt to pull this off. Also Joe treating his bike so rough, off the bloody cliff, through windows and whatnot. His bike prolly has a grudge against him.

This Kid so high he happy.

A kid sidekick I haven't been irritated by yet. Three episodes in and Megalo Box is still making miracles happen.

Aragaki is such a great character. The fifth episode's the best one yet, if only for all those soft piano tracks that kept playing in all the emotional moments.

Some pretty shots from the last two episodes:

Much as I appreciate how they're playing the characters, I feel like the show could do with some more actual boxing, to be honest.
