Gojira is life. That's all I had to say.

For some reason I really can't get into speedmetal, especially pre-2000s. Other than that I'll give everything a listen.

Discuss what exactly? What a terrible and ambiguous way to start a thread.

Figure what out? Coming here and dropping a YT link is not exactly what I would call "a discussion".

I could recommend trying early Blind Guardian or Running Wild (1988-1998 albums). Also Raven:

Think I'm somewhat familiar with Raven. That gritty falsetto vocal didn't win me over.

Bad To The Bone from Running Wild has got the right feel. Loved it.

Need to look further into Blind Guardian. Only listened to Mirror Mirror. But that's the thing about speed metal. Those Gs and Fs combined with outrageous fast shredding is a bit of a hit or miss with me. Love the chorus and the drums but still doesn't leave a lasting effect.

I love Dream Theater, especially when they go heavy. Train of Thought is my favorite album.

That's one of the songs I dream of experiencing live. Won't happen though. Its got such a dangerous energy about it.

Two of my favorite Metal bands are Coldrain, which is a Japanese metalcore band. I don't normally listen to japanese bands, but most of their lyrics are in english so it's cool.

Other one is Nemesea, which is a Dutch alt-rock band (but they're practically metal). I rarely like a female lead singer in bands, idk why, but this one is the exception. Great music.

Would be unfair not to mention Bullet For My Valentine. They were the gateway drug to metal for me.

    LOL

There was a hard rock song by Daughtry that I listened to on repeat for hours while playing battlefront I and II. That's when I discovered my taste for more extreme music. Which eventually led to Linkin Park, which led to disciple and other bands. Which led to Demon hunter and other metalcore bands.

He has some talent on his vocals, but musically I think he's kind of an untalented hack. He's too busy ripping off alt-rock and post-grunge bands instead of making his own sound.
