In light of a post that @Novaire made, I went ahead and created a prefix for the Sakuga City Book Club (attached to this thread). Now you can identify and sort threads by prefix. For those not involved, the book club get together here in the books forum, decide on a book by popular vote, then read it simultaneously while discussing it at intervals in a dedicated thread.

I'm posting this thread here as a sticky so that interested members can post if they're interested in getting involved and are not sure how to. :)

Well lets get some suggestions going. I'm currently trying to get into the works of Ellroy James and JG Ballard. So down with any of that.

I think I can pick up a book if its a standalone I guess (no trilogy or series commitments). Where do you read these books for free again?

I treat my local comic/book stores as my personal library.

Welp. So for suggestions I'd like to throw in The Catcher In The Rye if anyone hasn't read it yet. Or something classic from the olden age.

I'm 162 pages into Bloods A Rover. Which is when I found out itsthe last part of a trilogy. Fffffffffffffffffffffff

I have 'Concrete Island' and want to read 'The Atrocity Exhibition' by JG.

I would be interested in a book club. But I agree with what had already been mentioned. I think it should be stand alone novels instead of getting into series or trilogies. That way, if new members decide to get involved at some point during the process, then it would be easier for them to join in because they don't have go back and read previous novels in order to catch up to where everyone else is at.
