    :

A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino and based on Dario Argento's 1977 film, the film stars Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf, Jessica Harper and Chloë Grace Moretz.

Nice to see Jessica Harper involved as well.

The film is scheduled for a limited release by Amazon Studios in Los Angeles and New York on October 26, 2018, before opening wide on November 2, 2018.

Its meant to be a faithful remake and that director has an eye for detail. Not sure I'm feeling the colour palette but the cast and music from trailer was great.

I'm gonna try and catch it in cinema. Hate giving money to Amazon.

Seen a lot of people kicking the remake online already, but even as an ardent fan of the original, I think it looks okay, based on what's been shown.

Holy shit, what happened at the end there!!!

Yeah took me a month to actually finally sit down and watch this. Can't do a direct comparison between the two since it's been a while since I watched the old one but from a story standpoint, I feel this one did better than the Dario version, plus it took a few liberties with the ending. Where Dario's had a cracking soundtrack, was crude and simplistic when it needed to be and ended on a rather expected note, this one pretty much flipped the table. Began as an artsy movie with a bit of tension interspersed for much of its run-time but keeping all the goodies for the end. Not as terrorizing a soundtrack as Dario's version but mah man Thom Yorke done good setting up a sublime atmosphere.

All in all, a decent watch with a hellish ending. But you gotta stick with it. The first 1hr or so is a bit dry and this isn't really all that a gory out and out horror (minus the ending) but more of a...let's say romantic/cathartic/slow burning/basically a different kind of horror movie. And I'm pretty sure 1/3rd of the run-time was me staring blankly at my screen trying to understand German. Cause they have a decent amount of German dialogue in there with no subtitles. Or maybe my torre...supplier let me down there.
