Haven't seen one on here, so thought I'd post one. Post any information or photos about your travels and holidays.

I'm going to post photos from my travels, I have a lot but here's a few recent ones from my recent trip to France.

My husband and I went on our second honeymoon in February, to Fabulous Las Vegas.

We love vegas, not because of the gambling, but because its just so damn much fun, there is never a lack of things to do, and if you are a foodie the restaurants are to die for!

This time we went to the eiffel tower restaurant for the big night and it was phenomenal, seriously I cant recommend it enough. I wish I had pics but the place was so nice having my phone out felt wrong lol
Its a shame too because on the way back to the hotel a teenage intoxicated ninja turtle yelled at my husband for being so lucky to have such a pretty girl with him XD

But this was the view from our room, not bad at all tbh =3

What are you guys using for photo apps? Something easy to use I hope. This year we did a cruise out of Tampa to Mexico and Roatan, but didn't take many pictures. One of those vacations where it was good to get away and just live in the moment. Last year we visited London and other parts of the UK. Drove to York, saw part of Hadrians Wall, the Cotswolds and, of course, Stonehenge. Got a lot of pictures still on the SD card in the camera. Of course it was only after the trip was all planned out and we're seeing the sights that we found out they only do the changing of the guard on certain days. Guess which days we weren't in London?

I lived in England for a couple of years. Went to a few places on the continent.

Sadly I’ve been to a McDonalds in every country I’ve been in, not intentionally, but when you show up at a country at 9pm and nothing else is open, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Our most recent trip was to San Francisco in April. My brother and his family live there so we went around the city with them. We had been there before so we hit up the things we didn’t do last time. We walked through China Town, went to golden gate park and the Japanese garden, Academy of Sciences, went to the beach (albeit very chilly), ride the cable cars and went around to a few other places. After San Francisco we headed up to the Napa Valley area for a couple of days.

My highlight was the Japanese garden. Could just walk around forever in there and they had a nice little cafe with tea and treats

I’ve done quite a bit of traveling over the years, but the only place I’ve been to in Asia is China. I’d love to someday visit Japan, Thailand and South Korea. I’d also love to hit up Amsterdam someday and maybe Iceland, the blue lagoon in particular.

I noticed that the old travel thread is way out dated here so I plan to create a new one. This 2018, I plan to visit Europe and Spain. For my summer holiday, I'm looking at Tenerife or Lanzarote.I came across this one article about the place here in https://www.canaryislandsinfo.co.uk/gran-canaria/things-to-do/doramas-park/ I've never been to either and apparently, the beaches are fantastic as well as being suitably 'different' to make it interesting. How about you guys? Any plans?

This year I traveled mostly between Florida and Georgia for family at least three times each.
I also went up to Rhode Island in February, Washington DC in May, South Carolina during the Summer, and I'll probably end up in the mountains in the Winter.
My next big trip is a cross state trip in Iowa.
I'm pretty excited since I'll be hitting a lot of the historical sites.

This past summer was very busy. I dumped my oldest kid off on my mom for about 6 weeks. I took about 5 weeks off from work and I then took my 5 year old son all over the United States. Him and I flew out of Atlanta went to Phoenix, then Yuma, then San Diego. Then back to Arizona then to Missouri, then to Orlando FL for a week of Disney and back to GA.

My son did great on all the flights we had to do, it was his first time flying. I realized that I probably over did the "stranger danger" talks because every person that sat next to him he would cower away and ask them if they were strangers and then proceed to tell them not to kidnap him. Knowing my son he was playing jokes on those people and all were pretty cool about it, a group of boys about 11ish found out he is obsessed with the Darkside and Star Wars so they talked shop for quite awhile.

My favorite place was San Diego so much good food the San Diego Zoo was pretty awesome. Shame I haven't been able to convince my husband to move there, he was stationed at Camp Pendleton so he already knows what it's like. He just doesn't like how expensive it is.

I have been to California (I'm from oregon) twice and that's it. Does that count as travel? I once thought about a trip to England for two week or so, but once I saw that it would cost 3,000 for a plane round trip plane ticket I gave up any hopes of visiting foreign countries. If I am lucky I might be able to save up 2k after an entire year. So, assuming I need at least 4x that much to cover for hotels, food and travel inside the country I would have to save every one of those pennies I can for at least 4 years before I can go to a single country for 2 weeks and I would much rather have expensive ass Magic the gathering cards. At least the ones I could spend that large sum of money increase in price over every 3-4 years since they are all reserve list cards. Hell, I could just gamble it all away and lose all of it in stocks which I haven't the slightest clue about what I would be doing if I wanted to throw that kind of money away.

I know what you mean about plane fare, it costs more to go across country than it does to go overseas. My wife and I have been to Hawaii twice and would like to go back, but we live on the east coast and a round trip ticket usually runs about $1000 per person. At that price we’d have to pack sleeping bags, hitch hike to the beach and sleep with the sand crabs. For us, crossing the Atlantic is a much better deal. In the last five years we’ve been to Ireland, England, Spain and most recently Portugal. Except for Spain we’ve done fly-and-drive vacations. You get round trip air, a rental car and lodging for 8 days at around $1200 per person. After that you just have to take care of your food and extra activities. If it wasn’t for deals like that we wouldn’t go anywhere either. Even three days at Disney would cost more.

There are deals, but you have to look for them. My aunt and uncle travel to New York at least once a year. They go for the Christmas sales sometimes where you can get a lot of things MUCH cheaper than you can over here. So, they get their Christmas vacation and shopping done all at once, while taking the opportunity to visit friends who live there. Usually costs them around 600-1k per person for the flights, depending on the kind of deals they get.

Don't give up on travelling to England, if it's somewhere you'd really like to visit. Just keep an eye on deals like that and shop around different airlines. You might find something very reasonably priced if you book several months in advance.
