Quick question - saw a post about an upcoming samus returns video game for metroid. It got me thinking, what happens in between events in fantasy worlds? All those untold missions? Or do they just all get blasted to hell until the heroes are primed for the new story?

    At lunch cant muse anymore.

The gist of things is usually described in whatever the newest thing is (book, game, episode, etc).

True but im thinking more philosophical.

Does james bond ever take a vacation? What about the other 00s?

And what about the superheroes? You never here about batmans day in bermuda or supermans holiday in venice. Somebody isnt saving the world everyday in those worlds are they?

Bond took a vacation of sorts in Casino Royale lol.

I don't think superheroes take many traditional vacations. They sacrifice having normal lives for the sake of safeguarding whatever it is they protect.

But yeah I see what you mean. I mean Gundam pilots don't always pilot Gundams, Jedi don't always swing lightsabers. What do these people do in their downtime? I remember Mass Effect did a great job of answering that question with the ME3 DLC "Citadel" which is one of the best pieces of DLC ever.

The characters are trapped inside the head of the writers, in an existential hell that can only be escaped once a new project is written, greenlit and shot.

They basically have to go on a secret mission to get Netflix execs coked up enough before creators pitch new season./game whatever.
